On the summer of 2003, LA H*UB, a Los Angeles-based collaborative of artists and architects, organized an exhibition based on a competition they sponsered. The competition generated ideas for the proposed Civic Park in downtown Los Angeles.

Fifty international artists and architects proposals were presented in the form of 2 minutes videos and small booklets (links to proposals).

The exhibition was running for 6 weeks at Gallery 727 in Downtown Los Angeles. LA H*UB designed and fabricated the exhibition installation, which included a 150 feet long miandering troughd, 6 bent plywood benches, a backdrop wall installation and four wall mounted monitors (exhibition photos).

In conjuction with the exhibition LA H*UB modorated Whose Turf is This Anyway? a symposium on public space in downtown L.A. Participants included Ian Trivers, Julie Eizenberg, John Given, Roger Sherman and Doug Suisman (read full transcript).
